For the first time on this scale, nine international oil and gas companies are working together through the Subsea Well Response Project (SWRP) to further improve subsea well control incident intervention capabilities.

We have pooled our expertise and resources to develop intervention equipment that can be deployed around the world. Through collaboration with Oil Spill Response Ltd (OSRL), this equipment is now available for the international industry to use in the event of a subsea well incident.

Safety is at the heart of the oil and gas industry. A strong commitment from all industry stakeholders to work together is vital to build on recent advances, increase the overall level of safety in offshore exploration and minimise the environmental impact in the event of a serious subsea well control incident.
