  • July 2010 OGP establishes Global Industry Response Group (GIRG).
  • February 2011 Major oil and gas companies come together to commence the Subsea Well Response Project (SWRP).
  • May 2011 GIRG publishes recommendations on well incident prevention, intervention and response.
  • May 2011 SWRP is publicly launched.
  • April 2012 SWRP unveils its plans for an integrated intervention system to enhance international incident response capabilities.
  • April 2012 SWRP announces collaboration with Oil Spill Response Ltd (OSRL) to make the system available to the industry through membership of OSRL and a supplementary agreement.
  • April 2012 OSRL signs procurement contracts for the manufacture of new subsea capping and dispersant equipment. In total, the intervention system includes four capping stack toolboxes and two subsea incident response kits for debris clearing and the subsea application of dispersant.
  • January 2013 The first equipment is ready for use from vendor sites, in the event of an incident. OSRL is responsible for owning, storing and maintaining the equipment.
  • March 2013 The first capping stack and subsea incident response toolkit is publicly unveiled at OSRL’s Stavanger storage base.
  • June 2013 OSRL opens second equipment storage base in Singapore
  • October 2013 OSRL opens third equipment storage base in South Africa
  • November 2013 SWRP announces plans for a containment toolkit for international use
  • March 2014 OSRL opens final storage base in Brazil
  • April 2015 Containment toolkit and subsea well containment guidelines delivered
  • 2017 Expected delivery of Offset Installation Equipment
